Tadashi Goto was born on August 13, 1912 in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. He attended Daiichi Shinko Shogyo high school and Keio University before signing with Nagoya in 1936. The 5-foot-8 first baseman played 34 games during the combined spring/fall season and batted .203.

It was to be Goto's only season in professional baseball. He later served with the military and lost his life during World War II.
