Hiroshi Onodera was born in 1921 in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan. He attended Shido Shogyo high school and signed with Kurowashi in 1940.

The right-handed youngster pitched just two games his rookie year, appearing in 2.2 innings, facing 19 batters and walking 7 of them. He struck out two, allowed four runs and had an ERA of 13.50.

That was the end of Onodera's playing career. He entered miltary service that year and died in combat.
