Ichiro Hara was born on April 10, 1918 in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. He attened Kure Minato Chugakkou high school and played in five Koshien Tournaments, winning the championship in 1935.

The 19-year-old catcher signed with the Osaka Tigers in 1937, but also played with Dai Tokyo and Lion. His last season in professional baseball was 1938, after which he was drafted and died in combat.
