Masayoshi Maekawa was born in 1923 in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. He attended Higashikuni Shogyo high school and signed with Hanshin in 1942. Although he appeared in five games as a utility infielder, the 19-year-old only made one plate appearance and struck out.

Maekawa died in combat during World War II.
